A striking impressionist oil of a North African market scene by the Scottish school painter, Hans Hansen.
The painting was acquired from a Scottish family on Vancouver Island.
Frame and gilt liner appear to be original to the work.
Hansen is listed in Benezit and Thieme-Becker.
Condition:
Surface is in fine condition with no skinning.
Original varnish is intact with very little discolouration.
Piece originally had some stress cracks which have been professionally stabilized and restored.
